Your Insurance Settings are where you indicate the carriers and plans you’re contracted with so patients know whether you’re in-network. It’s important to keep this information accurate and up-to-date because it’s how patients identify whether you’re in-network when booking with you on any of our online scheduling options - the Zocdoc Marketplace, Google, or your website.
Where do I go to update the insurance I'm in-network with?
Once you’ve signed into your practice’s account, select Your Name, then Settings, and, finally, the Insurance tab.
Depending on your practice set-up, you’ll see one of the two options below:
If providers at your practice are in-network with different insurances from each other, let us know and we can adjust your set-up so that each provider has their own insurance settings.
How do I make changes to my insurance settings?
In your insurance settings, you can easily indicate the insurance you’re contracted with so patients know whether you’re in-network. You’ll see all of the carriers you’ve listed as in-network and a summary of the programs and types of plans you’re in-network with. Click on a carrier to see more detail and make edits.
For each carrier, you can select the types of plans you’re in-network with, which are categorized by the programs offered by the carrier (like commercial or ACA marketplace).
A check mark means you’ve selected all plans within that category
A dash mark means you’ve selected some of the plans within that category. Click see plans to view all plans and adjust your selections.
If you’d like to see more detail, click on see plans to see all plans offered by the carrier, where you can add or remove individual plans if needed.
To add an insurance carrier, click Add. Search for a carrier by name or choose one from the list of popular carriers, then click continue.
Select the types of plans you’re in-network with for the carrier. Select see plans to view all available plans and adjust your selections if needed. Click Save to add the insurance to your profile.
To remove a carrier, click on the carrier name. Select Remove carrier in the top right corner. Removing the carrier will remove all associated plans.
Tips
-
Regularly review your insurance settings to make sure your insurances are comprehensive, accurate, and up-to-date, especially when your contracts change. We recommend reviewing your settings at least once a year, and anytime a new provider joins your practice.
-
If you receive a booking for a plan you are actually no longer in network with, remove it from your insurance settings so patients see that you’re out-of-network with that plan. The appointment card includes the patient’s carrier and plan name. Find the carrier in your insurance settings, then click see plans to find and remove the individual plan. While you’re there, review other plans you’ve listed in the same category to make sure everything looks right.
